Range of activities supported by SLSP
The activities supported by the project include:
Review National & Provincial livestock policies and strategies
Strengthening of disease surveillance, diagnosis and reporting
Analysis of current capabilities of laboratory service
Establishment of a network of epidemiological units
Promotion of vaccine quality assurance
Examine options for privatization of vaccine production
Strengthen cold chain and distribution systems as required
Strengthen field services through improved mobility, equipment and training
Complete detailed training needs assessment (TNA)
Sponsor selected candidates on appropriate training courses at national, regional and European training institutions
Commission interdisciplinary livestock sector research

Commission studies and surveys, including baseline studies on livestock health and production
